MS Dhoni, who has faced back to back clean sweep defeats on foreign pitches under his Captaincy, has led to take him out of the captaincy, as well the test team. However, Gavaskar considers there is no reason to do this just yet, and stated that world cup winning captain is still the most suitable candidate for the job in the Indian team.

Little master, Gavaskar while speaking with sources has said that, the Ranchi wicket keeper and captain has faced a 4-0 loss to Australia and because of which, he is ready to play under any captain if the BCCI can get one and the little master also added that, he considers Dhoni is still the best in his job and backed Indian Captain stating that, BCCI should wait for a couple of seasons as Mahi himself said may be till 2013 so that we can have a better idea of the candidates who are likely to take over from him in future.

Meanwhile, Indian has already suffered their first T20 defeat against Australian on Wednesday and will be playing in the second T20 match on Friday, February 3, 2012.

Ireland’s big hitting batsmen Kevin O’Brien hoping for good news from Bangalore when the Indian Premier League players’ auction takes place on Saturday.

Kevin O’Brien scored the fastest world cup century of all time during Ireland’s sensational win over England. Incidentally, O’Brien scored that century in Bangalore, he got to three figures in just 50 balls and finished with 113, including six sixes and 13 fours. It was one of the finest knocks and magnificent display of clean hitting as Ireland won by three wickets with seven balls to spare.

Recently, O’Brien scored a 44-ball hundred for Gloucestershire against Middlesex in in a Twenty20 match. Earlier, Kevin O’Brien was not registered in the auction for last year’s IPL, but now O’Brien made sure his name was on the list for the fifth edition. He stated that it is an exciting time, waiting for Saturday auction.

Kevin O’Brien base price of $50,000, could make him a attractive hope in an auction where the likes of New Zealand’s Brendon McCullum and England’s Graeme Swann have reserve price of $400,000. Kevin said that last five months with Gloucestershire were tremendously important. He thinks that he is much better player now and also physically strong than he was earlier. He even added that IPL is a great tournament. For six weeks, they have to play with and against the best players in the world.

O’Brien is one of 144 cricketers around the world hoping for an IPL contract in the 2012. Indian Premier League fifth edition is scheduled from April 4 to May 27.

Former Australian Skipper, Ian Chappell has rated Brain Lara as the best batsmen rather than the Indian master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar and Former Australian captain, Ricky Pointing.

The best batsmen’s in today’s generation are Jacque Kallis, Brain Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Pointing. However, with only Lara having given his retirement from cricket, the remaining batsmen are still at their best in the world of cricket in both Test and ODIS.

Even tough, Sachin has set most of the record in cricket and is ahead of Lara and Ponting, as he has 99 international centuries, highest runs in Test cricket as well as the 50-over format. Ponting on the other hand has been absolutely brilliant and has scored runs all around the world, in all conditions but has gone through a lean patch in the last two years.

Chappell while speaking with the sources has said that, Lara is the world record-holder through a Test score of 400 and is next to Bradman; he’s the scorer of the biggest centuries in Test cricket. That’s a remarkable feat, particularly when you consider neither Tendulkar nor Ponting has a triple century. This probably highlights an area where Lara is superior to the other under discussion; his knowledge of how to amass big scores and added that, he would score quickly in spurts and steadily at other times. Fully capitalizing on this knowledge, he was able to achieve huge scores.

MS Dhoni has been successful captain fro India but after two successive whitewashes away from home Dhoni’s captaincy has came under fire. Dhoni said that, captaincy is an additional responsibility that he enjoys. If selectors feel the need to replace then e will be happy to step aside. Dhoni has dismally failed to rally the troops in two disastrous overseas campaigns and his own form. Dhoni even doesn’t justify his keeping duties but also with the bat, no longer warrants a guaranteed place in the Test side.

Dhoni represent India in 67 Tests scoring 3,509 runs. Critics say that Dhoni does not deserve a place in the Test squad anymore, there is need is to find a new captain from under the wreckage. Ian Chappell had written in one of his columns for a new paper stating that Dhoni is no longer the answer in Test cricket.

30-year-old, Dhoni has made 220 runs in four Tests in England last year at an average of 31.40 and just managed 102 runs in six innings in Australia at and average of 20.40. However, Dhoni has been a very good leader in the shorter formats of the game, leading India to win both the T20 and 50 over World Cup titles.

India has won their world title at home beating Pakistan in semifinals and Sri Lanka in the finals to clinch their second world cup. However, poor run has begun, as India has back to back white wash defeats in England and last week in Australia.

Meanwhile, Imran has stated about future of the Indian Master Blaster, Tendulkar stating that, Sachin should have retired after lifting the most desirable crown in early 2011.

We all want to go with a big bang but you always don’t get it right. For Sachin the ultimate time to go was after that World Cup win. He had such a great World Cup. He is a great player and there is not replacement for him and also added that, he has to decide for himself and he must time it right. You don’t want to go having lost to Australia 4-0. If he had gone after that World Cup, that would have been the ultimate high.

The series was also below par on an individual basis for many of the ageing middle-order batters, which includes the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, who was looking to become the first player in history to score hundred centuries.

Former Indian cricketer, Ravi Shastri, has praised the performance of young Indian batsman, Virat Kohli, and said that, the right-handed middle-order batsman has an immense future in his career.

India team has been defeated against Australia with 4-0 with all their senior Indian batsmen shave failed to score in the series. However, it was Kohli, who has proved in the last two Test matches of the series and has been the only Indian batsmen to score a ton.

Kohli has been a permanent member of the Indian team in limited overs cricket since the last few years. He made his Test debut last year during the tour of West Indies but came of age as a Test batsman in Australia as he proved his critics wrong by scoring a century in difficult batting conditions.

The right-hander scored a magnificent hundred in the Adelaide Test and Shastri feels that Kohl’s performance in Perth changed the course of his career. The former all-rounder believes that the biggest positive for Kohli is his age and that is why he should never be under pressure.

Shastri said, “A terrific innings. I’d told you after the Perth Test that his performance there (44, 75) would be the turning point of his career. He’s only 23, so what pressure? Even if he’d missed out on a few matches, so what? He’s got the benefit of age and should play for a number of years.”

The former cricketer further added that Virat has everything that it takes to be a top quality international cricketer and hopes that the right hander continues the good work in future.

“Virat’s passionate and he’s got that hunger. He has that want to succeed. He wants to compete against the best and to do well against them. It’s there within him. His application had been very good in Perth and he played in the same vein here,” he added.

Kohli will be part of the Indian squad that plays two T20 matches and takes part in the tri-nation One Day series.

Skipper of Australia, Michael Clarke is on top of the world, after their emphatic win white washing the Indian team with 4-0 has admitted that, the Kangaroos would like to regain their world No.1 test rankings in ICC.

Australia conquered the world of cricket for about 15 years but following the retirement of some key players, their results had been poor. However, this victory over India has restored pride in the Aussie fans, and confidence in the Australian cricket team.

Cricket Australia decided to wring in the changes after the debacle of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. Australia failed to defend the title as they lost to India. Clarke replaced Ricky Ponting as captain, and the results of the team have improved since.

Australia is currently behind England, South Africa and India in the Test rankings and Clarke admits that his team has to work very hard in the future as well to regain the lost number one position. The Aussie captain claimed that there is a brilliant team spirit in the dressing room and the players are backing each other.

Clarke said, we are currently ranked fourth in the world. We’ve got a hell of a lot of work to do to get back to where I see this team going and would love to see this team going. But we’ve played some fantastic cricket. We’ve shown a lot of people around the world that we’re on the way up, which is a really positive sign.

Putting the victory in perspective, Clarke was all praise for the performance of his bowlers. The likes of James Pattinson, Ben Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle did a great job for Australia in the series against India and said that, I think there’s still a lot of improvement needed in all of our games. I don’t want to take any credit away from our bowlers. I think they should be very proud of what they’ve achieved.
