India has restricted the Sri Lankans for 236/9 in the fifth ODI of the Commonwealth Bank tri-series match, which is being held on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Adelaide Oval.

Sri Lanka skipper, Mahela Jayawardene, won the toss and elected to bat first against India in a must win match have lost the opener, Tharanga in the very first ball of the dat.
However, the former Skippers, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Kumar Sangakkara continued to move the score card up, but, when Dilshan was looking strong and aggressive hitting a six and a four, fell to Irfan Pathan for 16 and adding 28 runs for the second wicket with Kumar Sangakkara.
Dinesh Chandimal, Young middle order batsman has once shown a brilliant performance in the series hitting 81 off 91 balls, which includes six fours and a six to put up a fight against India and he put up some good partner-ship with the experienced players.
Chandimal was implicated in two vital partnerships for the Sri Lankans, which pushed them past 200. He added 51 runs for the third wicket with Sangakkara and 94 runs for the fifth with Mahela Jayawardene to strengthen his side’s position.
Meanwhile, Pacer, Vinay Kumar was a pick of the bowler taking three wickets for 46 in 10-overs spell and spinner R Ashwin was impressive with the ball taking two wickets for 30 runs in his spell of 10 overs.
Pathan has made a superb comeback to the team picking-up the only wicket of Tillakaratne Dilshan and ending his spell by giving 38-runs in nine overs.
Meanwhile, India is now struggling with 158/4 in 36-overs with Gambhir hitting another 20 and MS Dhoni on crease.
