Virat Kohli and Virender Sehwag rises in ODI rankings, after both the batsmen had a successful series against West Indies in the recent concluded ODI series. Kohli better his rank by two places, after he contributed significantly to his side.
The 33-year-old dashing opener Sehwag, who scored a breathtaking world record individual score 219 off 149 balls with 25 fours and 7 sixes has jumped to 12th position. He also becomes the 24th batsman to reach 8,000 ODI run mark, during his scintillating innings at Indore in the fourth ODI last Thursday. As for Kohli, the 23-year-old batsman is India’s highest-ranked batsman, who moved up to third place, after scoring 243 runs in the series.
Meanwhile, the Captain cool of India Mahendra Singh Dhoni is in fifth place and Gautam Gambhir is in 18th place, becoming the only two other Indian batsmen in top 20. However, there is another batsman who headed in the right direction and he is Rohit Sharma the highest run getter in the recent ODI series, who scored 305 runs with three fifties, which were very crucial. He reached to 36th position bettering 20 places.
Among the ICC Player Rankings for ODI all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja has become the India’s highest-ranked all-rounder, who is in 10th place after performing well with his bat and ball. The 23-year-old left hander jumped two places on the table that was released on Sunday, December 11, 2011, after the fifth and final game of the series. Among the bowling ranks, Jadeja reached his career-best rank of 13th place, after he picked 9 wickets, including 3 for 62 and 3 for 34 in Chennai and Indore respectively.
