Marlon Samuels and Darren Bravo have shouldered the responsibility and steadies the West Indies innings in the third ODI of the ongoing series against India at Ahmedabad. West Indies lost two early wickets for 42 runs on board.
India who has already won the first two One-Day internationals of the five-match ODI series has won the toss and put West Indies into bat first. Vinay Kumar the Indian bowler who has impressed in the ongoing ODI series gave an early breakthrough for India, after he got out Lendl Simmons with just 2 runs on board caught behind by wicket keeper Parthiv Patel for 1 run off 8 balls.
West Indies innings was started by Simmons and Danza Hyatt, who got out on 20 off 39 balls with a boundary and a six in the bowling of Abhimanyu Mithun caught behind by Patel. This was the wicket for Mithun in the 50over edition. After Danza got out, Bravo the inform batsman of West Indies came to the crease and joined Marlon Samuels and took the responsibility of repairing the innings. They together put a 50-run partnership, but unfortunately Bravo has to leave the park as he suffered from a hamstring problem.
As the new rules do not allow a help-runner for an injured batsman, he was forced to leave the crease and was replaced by Denesh Ramdin, while Bravo was retired hurt on 26 off 41 balls with 2 boundaries. Marlon Samuels is right now playing on 53, after he scored his 22nd ODI fifty. At the end of the 30th over, Wes Indies were 110 for the loss of 2 wickets.
