Shahid Afridi has announced to rejoin his national team and resume his glorious career. He is part of the playing XI which is set to take on Sri Lanka in an upcoming ODI series at UAE.
Afridi recently came out of his self-imposed retirement following Zaka Ashraf’s appointment as PCB chairman in place of Ijaz Butt. On the day he took office, Ashraf said he would meet with Afridi to discuss the situation and that he believed the all-rounder still had plenty to offer the national side.
Afridi had an extensive meeting with the new board chief in the morning of November 2, and became a part of his national team again in the evening.
Afridi while speaking with the various sources has said that, he is ready to play cricket either as a player or captain and added that, he still have cricket left in me and a lot to offer for my country. It is always a privilege to lead the side but the captain has always been a scapegoat.
Meanwhile, the all-rounder was called by Leicestershire to play the English County Cricket. The board, in a bid to punish the guy for his ‘derogatory’ remarks, refused to issue him a No Objection Certificate (NOC), Afridi challenged this unfair decision in the court of law and resigned from international cricket conditionally.
