England Test Captain, Andrew Strauss has reported that the spot fixing judgment against three Pakistan players, Salman Butt, Muhammad Asif and Mohammad Amir would not affect the test series between England and Pakistan, which is scheduled be held from January, 17th – February 7th, 2012 in United Arab Emirates.
Strauss has stated that, No, look, you play against 11 other cricketers and one of the strong traits we try to foster within the England team is you worry about yourself and your own performance and added that, that’s what we’ll be doing in Dubai and it’ll be another keenly contested series, as it always is against Pakistan, and what’s gone on is water under the bridge.
England skipper Strauss was critical of the role of the apex governing body, the International Cricket Council, in the affair and insisted the global governing body to be more proactive to root out corruption from the gentleman’s sport.
“For me, there is still a lot of questions to be answered because they weren’t exposed by any of the cricketing members, they were exposed by the News of the World, and added that, he still think the ICC could be doing a lot more than they are doing.
