Pakistan’s captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Sri Lankan captain Tillakaratne Dilshan have lift-up their voices for the use of Decision Review System (DRS) in all International cricket games.
Currently, Pakistan and Sri Lanka are playing against each other in a three-match Test series; with the Green Shirts 1-0 to the lead. The second Test match, which Sri Lanka lost by nine wickets, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium saw many unsettled decisions.
Tillakaratne Dilshan has called for Decision Review System, as the major player of his side, Kumar Sangakkara, was given leg-before by Kiwi umpire Tony Hill, which left many confusions when the replays was shown.
Sri Lankan skipper was quite unhappy over the verdict and the frustration increased as there were no DRS in the series, due to which they were unable to tackle the decisions. Dilshan said the media reporters that, he had spoken in favour of using the technology in the international series, as it helps the umpires when it comes to doubtful decisions.
On the other hand, Misbah-ul Haq admits that, he has always been in favour of the use of DRS because it helps teams plus the umpires, and it should be compulsory in all International games. Last month, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) declared that, they will use the DRS technology only in their five-match ‘One-Day International’ series over Sri Lanka team.
The third Test match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan is schedule to be played on November 3, 2011, at Sharjah Cricket Association Stadium.
