"ICC Twenty20 Rankings"International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its first ever set of international Twenty20 rankings. England has topped the chart of team rankings, while Eon Morgan of England and Ajanta Mendis of Sri Lanka topped the batting and bowling charts respectively, while Shane Watson leads the all-rounder list.

England, the reigning World Twenty20 Champions, who also topped the Test rankings, has 127 rating points, with Sri Lanka behind them in second place with 126 points, one point behind England. New Zealand is in third place with 117 with South Africa in fourth and the 2011 World Cup winners India in fifth places with 113 and 112 points respectively. Australia is in sixth place with 111 points and Pakistan in seventh place with 97 points.

Pakistan has surprised everyone, being in seventh place, despite being the finalists of 2007 T20 World Cup, winners of 2009 edition and the semi-finalists of the 2010 edition. The ICC made it clear explaining that, they have lost more than 50% of their International T20s and their World Cup results does not add much weight. ICC also added that, the teams that have played eight and more have been considered for the rankings, since August 2009.

David Richardson, the ICC General Manager said that, ICC is delighted to announce the teams and players rankings for T20 International cricket. He added that, the launch of T20 rankings will generate more interest towards the shortest format, which may lead to more bilateral T20 series. Check out the complete list of ICC Twenty20 rankings.
