One of the finest Australian captains, Ricky Pointing has stated that, he is happy to help the young Australian players in the squad and guide them in the best possible way to lead the country.
Pointing while speaking with the various sources has said that, “I’m trying to help them learn as fast as possible, so I’m really enjoying that role to tell the truth. I’m no doubt training as hard as ever and that’s important for me to keep that hard work up. I’m a lot more relaxed with the things I can do outside of the training paddock.
Experienced player in the Australia squad was impressed with the young pace sensation Pat Cummins and stated that, “One thing we know about Patty (Cummins) is that he’s an exceptional young talent and he is a wicket-taking bowler. I think we saw that in the Twenty20 games as well.”
Pointing, who has stepped down from the captaincy, after their quarterfinals defeat against India in the ICC World Cup 2011, He took the decision before the national selectors could fire him away from the leadership. However, the 36-years old batsmen has shown a marvelous performance in the Bangladesh and continued the same in Sri Lanka.
Australia is currently touring South Africa, as the senior batsmen in the squad, Pointing has played an important role in the first ODI scoring 63 and clinching the man of match award.
