Pakistan’s pacer, Umar Gul was confident of leading the attack for his side against Sri Lanka in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Sri Lanka will be playing three Tests, five One Day Internationals (ODIs) and one Twenty20 against Pakistan from 18th October, 2011 in Abu Dhabi.
The right-arm pacer claimed that he had no pressure and will be eying wickets in the series against Sri Lanka. He stated, “I was rested for the Zimbabwe tour so I want to take as many wickets as possible and perform to the best of my ability. The wicket looks supportive for fast bowlers.
Conditions are almost the same for both the teams. Sri Lanka has always been a tough team and we always had close and exciting matches with them.”
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is currently hunting a new coach for the team due to the fact that Waqar Younis stepped down from the job recently.
According to Gul, the absence of Waqar will be a big blow for the entire team, especially the bowlers. He added, “For fast bowlers Waqar was very helpful and we are going to miss him in this series. More so in Tests because if you have a bad session in a Test you can go to your bowling coach and get the tips, so we will miss Waqar.”
