David Jacobs, the opener of Mumbai Indians have been ruled out from ongoing Champions League T20, due to hip injury. The wicket-keeper batsman of South Africa suffered from injury, while he was batting in nets on Sunday, in the process of their preparation for the match against Trinidad & Tobago on Monday.
However, Jacobs was replaced by Ambati Rayudu, who kept the wickets in the match against Trinidad & Tobago, in which Mumbai Indians won by a slim-margin of one wicket. The management of Mumbai Indians and Captain Harbhajan Singh has been looking out, to replace Jacob. Harbhajan said that, the management of his team is looking into the issue and insisted that, they need to have another player in the team, as they only have 13 players.
Mumbai Indians, the IPL franchise has been struggling with injuries, before the Champions League T20 has begun. They lost their key players like, Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma, Munaf Patel and all of them have been ruled out of the event. Besides the above stars, there have been some more players of the side, such as Pawan Suyal, Dawal Kulkarni, Ali Murtaza, Aditya Tare and Suryakumar Yadav, who are the part of the injuries list. However, Mumbai Indians have been allowed to play with five foreign players, instead of four, considering the situation of the side.
On the other hand, Davy Jacobs, the second highest run scorer of 2010 Champions League T20, has been set to fly back to South Africa on Tuesday, which means Mumbai Indians have been left with only six foreign players. The similar situation was faced by Dhoni, during the tour of England, where the Indian side has lost ten players, through out the tour.
