Australian test newcomer Shaun Marsh apparently stated the former South Africa utmost Mickey Arthur would make a great cricket coach of Australia squad, if he decisive to take on the job.
Australia is on the watch out for a new cricket coach, after Tim Nielsen stepped down following the 1-0 Test series victory against Sri Lanka. With a tour of South Africa on the prospect, Australia team may be required to appoint a temporary coach while officials search for a full-time replacement.
Mickey Arthur, who is in his second year of a three-year deal with Western Australia, is settled in Perth but told he would think taking on the Australian show. Tom Moody, Steve Rixon and Justin Langer are in line for the Australian coach role.
Marsh believed Arthur would shine in the coach position, if he decided to apply for the job. He is a outstanding coach. I have loved working with him at Western Australia, Marsh said after he arrived back in Perth on Wed, Sept 21. He got a very good cricket brain, and you can sit down and talk to him about cricket all day.
Arthur broke through for his delightful Test debut in the second Test over Sri Lanka team, when Ricky Ponting returned home for the birth of his second child. The 28-year-old made the most of his opportunity, posting 141 runs on debut before adding scores of 81 and 18 in the third and final Test series.
Shaun Marsh’s stylish ton in the second Test series made him hold his position at number 3 place even when Ponting returned to the squad. But, the Warriors left-hander told, he does not mind where he bats in the future, just so long as he remains in the Test squad.
