Ian Botham; the legendary all-rounder has predicted that, England could at least remain top for five to six years, after white washing India with 4-0.
The legendary all-rounder of England, Ian Botham has hailed the England team, after they white washed team India and clinched the nPower series with 4-0. He also hailed their ruthlessness of England and predicted that, they have the potential to remain as the top teat team for at least five to six years.
Botham said that, the key players like Kevin Petersen and Andrew Strauss could retire in the next three to four years. However, the present generation of the team would stay longer and could dominate the world.
He emphasizes his statement saying that, he could see England team moving for at least five to six years and maybe even for eight years. He also added that, Strauss and Petersen could leave the game in four years. However, the ECB is also planning for that.
He also said that, four of the England players are in the top 10, as Bell and Cook toed at third place, Jonathan Trott at sixth and Petersen at eight. Also, four of the England team, are in top 10 in both batting and bowling rankings.
In the bowling rankings, England got their five bowlers in the top 10 with Anderson in second, Swann in third, Broad at fifth, Tremlett at 10 and Bresnan at 11 places respectively. Ian also praised the work of Andy Flower and urged the ECB and Wales Cricket Board not to leave him.
