Graham Onions has been called up to join the England team for the fourth test against India at The Oval, after Chris Tremlett was ruled out with injury.
England fat bowler, Graham Onions has replaced the injured Chris Tremlett, another pacer of the team and has been included in the squad for the upcoming fourth test against India at The Oval. He replaced Tremlett, after he failed pass the fitness test and will not be available for selection for the fourth test.
On the other hand, England is also concerned with leg injury of James Anderson. However, it is being described as a minor one and it would be a huge blow for the England side, if he will not be available for the fourth test, hoping to whitewash India in the ongoing series with 4-0.
Geoff Miller, the national selector of England said that, Tremlett has failed the fitness test, despite showing the signs of the recovery of his back injury since few days. On Anderson’s injury he said that, it appears to be a minor injury and Onions has been called as precautionary cover of bowling.
He also hopes that, Anderson would recover from his injury by Thursday, but time is required to determine his availability. However, he added that, Steven Finn is in the squad joined by Onions, who has been in good form for his county Durham, after he returned from a back injury at the beginning of the season.
Graham Onions, the 28-year-old pacer has not played a test match since 2010, due to his career threatening and long time back injury. Tremlett was named in the final 13 for the fourth and final test against India, after he missed the second and third tests at Trent Bridge and Edgbaston.
However, he sustained again to the same back problem, which caused him to be ruled out at Nottingham and Birmingham.
