England has released their 12-men squad for the first NPower Test match against India, which is scheduled to be held from Thursday July 21 at Lords in England.
Andrew Strauss will be leading the England 12-men Squad, as the comeback Yorkshire pace man Tim Bresnan was included in the team with his last match in January against Australia in the 5th Ashes test series. The only player excluded from the recent Npower test series victory against Sri Lanka with 1-0 was Middlesex’s Steven Finn.
Geoff Miller, England national selector while speaking with the various sources has stated that, it will be a highly-anticipated series between two of the world’s top Test playing nations between India vs England and he said that, England is looking forward for the exciting challenge of taking on the number one ranked team in Test cricket.
Miller also added that, after a successful Test and ODI series victory against Sri Lanka, the national selector has said that, they are delighted to take Tim Bresnan in the Test squad after his excellent return from a calf muscle injury and reported Tim will add further bite to our pace attack along with James Anderson, Chris Tremlett and Stuart Broad who has greatly benefitted from getting over’s and wickets under his belt for Nottinghamshire during the week.
England squad: Andrew Strauss (Captain), James Anderson, Ian Bell, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Eoin Morgan (Middlesex), Kevin Pietersen (Surrey), Matt Prior (wicket keeper), Graeme Swan, Chris Tremlett and Jonathan Trot (Warwickshire).
