England skipper Andrew Strauss has hailed the ‘phenomenal’ career of India’s Sachin Tendulkar, who might register his 100th international century in the impending series between the teams.
India master blaster Sachin Tendulkar has scored 51 Test and 48 one-day International (ODI’s) tons for his country and the England caption Strauss believes there are few signs of his powers retreating at the age of 38.
Strauss told that, it goes without saying that it is a phenomenal career achievement, not just the fact he scored those massive runs, but his aspiration and motivation to play that long and keep chasing down to those records. Sources said.
He has been one of the incredible players over the last Twenty years and I’m sure, he will want to have a big series. Technically, he is fantastic, his mental strength to bat under that amount of pressure for all that time, is extraordinary.
Andrew Strauss is hoping paceman Chris Tremlett can build life uncomfortable for India with his lift and bounce. He told: “Are India susceptible to short deliveries? I think all the sub-continent squads have got better at that in recent years.
While Strauss fights to regain his own touch, a like scenario is deal with fast bowler Stuart Broad who was dropped for the final one-dayer over Sri Lanka team.
Stuart Broad has gone back to play county cricket for Nottinghamshire and taken up his first five wicket haul for a year against Somerset.
But, Strauss believes it is only a matter of instance before Broad is back to his best form England.
