India’s leg-spinner Amit Mishra has been fined 10 percent of his match fee on Tuesday for rebel with umpire after being given out in the ongoing first cricket Test against the West Indies in Kingston.
Amit Mishra was found to have breached Article 2.1.3 of the code which relates on fight back at an umpire’s decision by verbal or action abuse, after being given out.
According to the sources: Amit Mishra has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for a Level 1 violation of the ICC Code of Conduct during his side’s first Test against the West Indies in Jamaica, the ICC said.
After play accomplished on Day 2, Mishra accepted the sanction obtained to him by match referee Jeff Crowe.
On being given out fixed behind the wicket in the first innings against West Indies, Amit stood on ground for a lengthy period of time and while doing so gesture to his arm guard until lastly he left the crease, said Crowe.
All Level 1 violations carry a least penalty of an official warning and a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee.
The charges were brought by on-field umpires Ian Gould and Daryl Harper, as well as third umpire Norman Malcolm. At stumps on Day 2 test match, India had scored ninety-one for three in their second innings.
India team will go into the third day with an emotional advantage, and an overall lead of 164 runs, with seven second innings wickets remaining.
