On Tuesday, day 2 of the West Indies test match, Indian Spinner, Amit Mishra was fined 10 per cent of his match fee for showing dissent towards the umpire.
Amit Mishra was given caught out by Umpires in F Edwards bowling. However, the Indian Spinner was standing on the ground for a long time and was gesturing to his arm guard before leaving the crease on Umpires in the ongoing first cricket Test against the West Indies.
ICC match referee Jeff Crowe has stated that, batsmen are taking too long to leave the crease after being given out by the umpires. Whether it is just disappointment, it is still disrespectful the code clearly states that it is unacceptable.
ICC has reported on Wednesday that, Amit Mishra has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee for a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct during his team’s first Test against the West Indies in Jamaica.
After the second day of the first test, Mishra has accepted the sanction of being 10 per cent of his match fee. The Indian Spinner was found guilty of breaking the code 2.1.3, which states that, showing dissent at an umpire’s decision by verbal misuse.
Apart from that, India is leading in the first test against West Indies with 164 at the end of day 2 play. Earlier, West Indies were bowled out in their first innings 173 and later India started their second Innings with a score of 91 for 3 wickets at the end of day 2 play.
