Sachin Tendulkar stood by India, on refusing the usage of UDRS during the tour of England saying, the review system need to be more consistent.
The Indian ace batsman, Sachin Tendulkar took the side of India, when it refused the usage of Umpired Decision Review System during the tour of England. He said that, he is not against the review system.
He also said that, he wants the review system, to be more consistent. He added that, it would be more effective with the addition of Snickometer and Hot Spot technologies, as it would give much more consistent results.
However, India was against the usage of the review system, from the time it was used for the series against Sri Lanka in 2008 on a trial basis. The technology of UDRS, which facilitates the team to challenge the decisions of umpires, on-field and it was accepted by all the major cricketing nations and was also used in the recent World Cup 2011, which was co-hosted by India.
Recently, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also gave a call to use UDRS in all formats of the game, but India stick to their earlier standard statement, denying to use the technology in the series against England, next month.
Hot Spot, has infra-red imaging system, which helps to determine, if the ball has hit the bat or pad of a batsman, while Snickometer has the audio meter to determine the snick, if it has touched the bat, on its way to the wicketkeeper.
