India will be taking on West Indies on Thursday, 16th June, 2011 in the fifth one day international match which is being held in Kingston, West Indies. The 2011 world cup winning team will be aiming for a victory in the fifth and final match of the one day series
India after losing first match, since their victory in the world cup is leading the series with 3-1 and will be hoping to end the five-match series on a winning note with 4-1. Later, India will be competing in the 2-test matches against the Caribbean team on bouncy tracks.
The main reason of India’s success in the series so far has been the use of slow wicket instead of the traditional bouncy tracks. However, the final one day will be played on the bouncy track at Kingston.
Indian batsmen struggled to play their shots and in the end, they lost the match by a huge margin of 103 runs. However, more than bounce it was poor shot selection by Indian batsmen that led to their downfall.
When the fifth ODI begins in Kingston, West Indian skipper Darren Sammy will be all smiles as a bouncy track is expected, which his seamers would enjoy bowling on. The return of pacer Ravi Rampaul, who was rested for third and fourth ODI, will further strengthen the pace-attack.
Apart from Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the rest of the Indain batsmen have failed in series with the likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Parthiv Patel, S Badrinath and Yusuf Pathan.
Stay tuned for the kick off, as the new Indian batsmen Shikhar Dhawan, Parthiv Patel, S Badrinath and Yusuf Pathan can prove themselves and secure their place in the Indian one day squad in the Future.
