Former South African Pacer Makhaya Ntini has been appointed as Cricket South Africa (CSA) first ever Cricket Development Ambassador.
Proteas pacer said that he is very excited to take up the new challenge as he will be starting his new role to develop cricket in his home province of Eastern Cape. He also added that it is very happy to work with CSA; he is most passionate about the game as he is from rural parts of the South Africa.
Makhaya Ntini after retiring from cricket had taken the development programme. The renovated GB Molefe hostel will be the houses for CSA Fort Hare Cricket Academy bursary players. Ntini on his new role quoted that his new journey will allow him to continue spread the word of cricket and bring the attention of young boys and girls from the smaller areas and to shine them to serve South Africa.
The chief executive of CSA, Gerald Majola said that Ntini is the true ambassador of the game; he is more exuberant and enthusiastic player in the team. They just honored him as he is spending his time to develop the cricket.
Majola stated that many stars come and go in very professional where Ntini also retired from the game but he cannot be out the cricket world. The upcoming young talent players who might represent South Africa will have great time with Ntini and they believe he is the perfect man to be the Ambassador of Cricket Development.
