Paul Chandrasekhar Valthaty, the name resounded again after the batsman’s eye related injury sidelined him for the 2002 Under-19 World Cup conducted in Bangladesh. Valthaty with his blitzkrieg effort made Punjab eleven to bask in the glory of stunning victory.
Conquering the Chennai Super King’s hopes of overcoming the match with unreachable 188 runs target; Velthaty’s stroke of 120 being not out in just 63 deliveries made it a stunning appearance and indeed pinged the selectors to be erected for his forthcoming IPL season.
Provided, he continues with the same form throughout the ongoing IPL season, Valthaty is no way down the lines to get developed in his career and to be selected into the international cricket team.
As critiques say, the IPLs T20 games are far superior to International T20s and considering the same fact, Valthaty’s future performance may pat him to be filled with the bestowment of T20 stance in Indian team.
It’s almost been 9 years for the 27 year old to draw the attention of the Indian cricket and to convey that he is still capable of scripting miracles like he was in 2002. At then, the right hander scored 83 runs from just 42 balls which show his fearless batting power.
Being sidelined for 9 years, Valthaty is currently playing for the Mumbai colors in Ranjies and has also associated with Air India team.
