Deccan Chargers who had spent three seasons of Indian Premier League without a home win. Deccan Chargers has played eight home matches, before this game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, had never tasted a win.
Deccan Chargers (DC) had clashed with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) yesterday in Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad. Deccan defeated Royal Challengers by 33 runs and this is their first home win in IPL. Deccan Chargers have also ended their loosing habit not only in Hyderabad, but also in the IPL 4, 2011. They have already suffered two losses to Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The main weapons of Deccan Chargers have played a key role in this win; they have better bowling line-up than batting order. It was an accurate fast bowling spells form pacers saw Deccan recharged. Ishant Sharma got the first blood by picking up dangerous Dilshan. Dale Steyn bowled furiously and Manpreet Gony provided much wanted breaks by getting price wickets of AB de Villiers, Virat Kholi and Mohnish Agarwal.
Deccan Chargers were recharged as they looked aggressive from the first ball they faced Sunny Sohal started the aggression. Captain Sangakkara played with controlled aggression rotating strike in form of singles and occasionally coming down the track for big ones. Bharat Chipli was under the skins of Bangalore bowlers, Zaheer Khan was in the firing line of Chipli. Chipli has scored 22 runs in nine balls of Zaheer Khan.
The Deccan Chargers bowlers were right on the money from the beginning of the match all the faster bowler’s economy was below 5 runs which are acceptable in this format of the game. The only bowler who provided easy runs was Amit Mishra; they scored 41 runs in his four overs.
Royal Challengers Bangalore has strong batting order with like of Tillakaratne Dilshan, Virat Kholi, AB de Villiers and Saurabh Tiwary. Zaheer Khan who came in as No.3 batsmen couldn’t justify his role as a batsmen. Even none of the batsmen justified their roles expect Virat Kholi fighting lonely was not enough.
Deccan Chargers will now face Kings XI Punjab in their next assignment at their home town on April 16, 2011.
