Coming off a first game loss to Chennai Super Kings, seems the Gambhir men regained their senses in clinching a win over Deccan Chargers where in the Hyderabad based Chargers couldn’t achieve the target of 164 and got stumbled for 154 losing 8 wickets.
Knight Riders’ Jacques Kallis who scored 53 from 45 balls with a six and 7 boundaries, stood as player of the match for his runs as well as four important catches while plucking out the Chargers.
Early in to the game, Riders took the charge as Kallis and Bisla added 51 runs for the first wicket in just 9 over’s before the second down went back for leg before appeal. Later the South African all rounder flanked by the KKR captain Gambhir to add more 40 runs in the next 4 over’s, but alas, he after finishing his half century had to go back in Duminy’s bowling.
Being in the 13th over with 90 runs, KKR looked more to finish off the game with low score, but Gambhir and Tiwari made it a chance to score more boundaries to barge the scoreboard. As Gambhir went back to pavilion at 133 runs with 29 of his personal stroke, YK Pathan came into the crease to help Tiwary in making the death over’s really miserable for Deccan Chargers. Exactly on the last ball, Pathan returned to pavilion making the KKR score 163 in 20 over’s.
Nothing except the Chipli’s 48 runs effort from just 40 balls; is good to discuss in DC’s batting line up. Even the Captain Sangakkara went back for just a 16 runs.
It’s all the effort of Iqubal Abdulla from Mumbai who took the bowling charge from KKR to crumble the DC line up as he plucked out three wickets for just 24 runs.
With the loss, DC went down with 0-2 W-L in the campaign.
