Gary Kristen is Keen To Coach South Africa

Gary Kristen, who ended his career as Indian coach on a high note as Team India won World Cup after 28 years under his guidance. Gary Kristen now wants to be the coach of South Africa cricket team in his next assignment.

South African team coaching has been kept vacant after Corrie Van Zyl was resigned to his job following World Cup elimination in quarter-finals. Corrie Van Zyl was appointed as coach in 2010 after Mickey Arthur left the job. Gary Kristen is keen to take the Cricket South Africa coaching responsibilities on his shoulder. Kristen has not submitted the application for the post before deadline even though he is very interested to coach Proteas.

Andrew Hudson has played a key role in appointing Corrie Van Zyl as coach; Gary will certainly be discussed as he placed Team India in such heights with his capability of handling the players well. Gary Kristen said to media he was keen to coach Proteas team but, he also considering several other options.

Gary Kristen is very much interested to work with current team of South Africa, he believes that they were the best and most talented team ever had. Kristen is known for his calm and cautious approach. The former opening South African batsmen is taking his time and considering all his options to take the right decision.

Meanwhile, Cricket South Africa has appointed Professor Johann Coetzee to psychometrically test all the applicants for the coaching job. Former Proteas player Boeta Dippenaar, who is in interview panel representing the players, approached Johann Coetzee. Coetzee will spend two hours with each candidate to shortlist the members.

The South African team received big names of the cricket coaching staff with well experienced and successful coaches. Former coach of England coach Duncan Fletcher, Former Australian successful coach John Buchanan, present South African bowling coach Vinnie Barnes and Cape Cobras coach
Richard Pybus.
