India is one win away to be crowned as World Champions, India won by 29 runs in the 2nd semi-final of ICC World Cup 2011. Old rivals India and Pakistan met yesterday and India continued their unbeaten record against Pakistan in World Cups.

The most hyped and high intensity game was viewed the two Prime Ministers of two nations Manmohan Singh and Yousaf Raza Gilani and many more political and Bollywood celebrities. India will now battle with the co-hosts Sri Lanka to clinch the trophy. Sri Lanka might be surprised to see the way Indian pacers bowled and they will be considered to handle the pressure in the big event.

India has won the toss and elected to bats first, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar started the proceedings for India. India got off to flier as scored first fifty in just 32 balls; Sehwag was in a dangerous mood he punished 21 runs in Umar Gul’s second over. Sehwag (38) includes 9 fours and was dismissed by Wahab Riaz. Sachin Tendulkar eying for his 100th international century played to his unnatural game.

Sachin has got as many as four chances if the Pakistan could cling on those the result might be different. Sachin (85) was given let offs when he was on 27, 45, 70 and 81 and Afridi taught his teammates to catch as Sachin fell 15 runs short of century. Suresh Raina played a little cameo of innings at the end and scores 36 runs which give India to fight with a decent total of 260 runs for loss of nine wickets.

Pakistan bowling attack, they left out Shoaib Akhtar and went in with Wahab Riaz who proved to be priceless. The bowlers who threatened to be dangerous have put on a flap show, Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi ended wicket less. Wahab Riaz has taken five wickets, Saeed Ajmal got two wickets and Mohammed Hafeez settled with one wicket.

Pakistan batsmen would be happy coming into chase 261 runs considering the start India had. Kamran Akmal and Mohammed Hafeez has scored runs freely, timing the ball sweetly and placing the balls in the gaps. Kamran Akmal (19) dismissed by Zaheer Khan and Hafeez looked solid for his 43 tried for extravagant short and caught by Dhoni in the bowling of Munaf.

Yuvraj Singh who has been serving as a fifth bowler was got rid of Asad Shafiq (30) and Younis Khan (13) was the turning point for the game. Indians tightened up their screws and made life difficult for batsmen. Misbah (56) played right through the innings and one again failed to finish the things for Pakistan. Umar Akmal (29) counter attacked bowlers but he was cleaned up by Harbhajan Singh. Afridi (19) and Razzaq (3) could not meet their reputation and tail-enders surrendered before India pace attack. Pakistan was bowled out for 231 runs.

Indian bowling attack, Dhoni opted for extra pacer ahead off Ashwin proved to worth full. Zaheer khan, Munaf Patel, Ashish Nehra, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh shared the wickets, claiming two apiece.
