India and Pakistan the biggest battle of world cup they were the biggest sporting rivalry nations. The clash of the titans will be in the second semi-final of ICC World Cup 2011 today at 9:00 GMT at PCA Stadium Mohali, Chandigarh.

The two subcontinent nations are coming for the first after the Mumbai attacks, they have played a match there after. The semi-final fight is expected to a nail biting finish to the game, as expected the pressure will be high on each player in Indo-Pak match. The Prime Ministers will not be the important man and their decisions will not be valued in the Mohali where Dhoni and Afridi will be the most focused players at any point of the game.

The two captains have a successful track record as captain, Dhoni is known as cool captain and Afridi is an aggressive captain. The decisions taken by the captains will influence the match that gained much attention and hype of the entire cricketing world. This will be the fight between India’s batting and Pakistan pace attack.

Pakistan and India have met four times in the World Cup history, India has won all these matches and that is a worrying fact for Pakistan. Pakistan aiming to rewrite the history where as Indian team is eying to continue their winning streak against Pakistan in World Cups.

Recalling the history arch rivals India and Pakistan first met in 1992 World Cup the match was played at SCG and India won by 43 runs. Mohammad Azharuddin was the captain of Indian side; India made 216/7 and Pakistan were bowled out of 173 where Sachin was the player of the match for scoring unbeaten 54.

In 1996 World Cup, India and Pakistan face in quarter-finals on home soil at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. India managed to score massive 287 runs and Pakistan was cleaned up for 248 runs. In 199 World Cup, India made 227 runs batting first and Pakistan was swept out for 180. R Dravid (61) and M Azharuddin (59) played useful knocks but Venkatesh Prasad bagged five wickets and dictated the Pakistan downfall. In 2003 World Cup, India was chasing the total for fist time and successfully chased down the target of 273 with the wonderful knock of Sachin scoring 98.

The winner of this match will face Sri Lanka in the finals of ICC World Cup 2011 on 2nd April at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
