Dhoni: India stirs up for Aussie’s in Quarters

MS Dhoni, Indian captain has committed that their team will be at their best when they meet the defending champions Australia in the Quarters. India and Australia will meet in the quarter’s clash of ICC World Cup 2011 on 24th March, 2011 at Sardar Vallabhai Patel Stadium, Ahmedabad.

India has finished in second position in Group B after their win against West Indies at Chennai in their last group match on Sunday. India have clinched 80 run win over West Indies and will take on Australia in the quarter finals of ICC World Cup 2011. In the match against West Indies, Indian team is looking good as if they would get above 300 runs total when Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kholi were consistently going along well, but batting powerplay once again has made the team go low. India has lost four wickets during this powerplay.

India finished on 268 runs, West Indies started their chase very aggressively and looked they will win the game comprehensively but wonderful bowling display that hasn’t been part of India came into action and sealed the victory. Australia who was defeated for the first time in World Cup since 1999 World Cup, Pakistan ended their winning streak of Australia and Pakistan will be the first team to play the quarter final on 23rd March against West Indies.

Dhoni praised Indian spearhead Zaheer Khan for picking up crucial wickets at right time, and they were able to capitalize on the new batsmen and to build pressure as they eventually awarded by the wickets. Yuvraj Singh has been star performer for India right through the tournament with both bat and ball, he scored 284 runs with one century and three half centuries and also picked up nine wickets includes one five wicket haul.
