Canada has registered their first win of ICC World Cup 2011. Ashish Bagai and Jimmy Hansra 132 runs partnership for the fourth wicket ensured the win over Kenya in the group matches.
Kenya after winning the toss went in to bat first. Henry Osinde has bowled superbly to pile three wickets in his opening spell and Kenya lost top five wickets in 15 overs with just 57 runs on the board. Kenya skipper Jimmy Kamande and Tanmay Mishra have added important 52 run stand for sixth wicket, before Kamande dismissed by Balaji Rao. Tanmay Mishra (51) has scored half century and this is his fourth one day international fifty, Thomas Odoyo (51) fired half century in just 61 balls which includes five fours and a six.
Canada bowling, Henry Osinde is the pick of the bowler, he has picked four wickets. Rizwan Cheema and Harvir Baidwan have bagged two wickets each; Balaji Rao and John Davison have taken one wicket each.
Canada started their innings positively but lost three quick wickets. Then Indian born Jimmy Hansra and captain Ashish Bagai have rescued the Canada innings. They both reached their fifties, Hansra (70) a match inning knock includes seven boundaries and two sixes. Ashish Bagai unbeaten 64 has guided his side to victory. Canada has lost won a World Cup game against Bangladesh in 2003 at Durban.
