Chosen to bat first, Pakistan went with a nervous bat having Haffeez and Shehzad to open but both the openers started off with a sluggish run pace have managed to score just 10 runs in first 5 over’s. Then in the 6th over, Haffeez gave his wicket through SR Waters’ excellent catch at short though the review decision had been asked by the batsman. However it fetched Kenyans a good result.
Next to see pavilion end was second opener Shehzad who with just one run in 18 balls went back in Odoyo’s bowling leaving Kamran Akmal and Younis Khan at the crease in the seventh over.
Both the second down batsmen gave 98 runs partnership for the 3rd wicket as Kamran Akmal who eventually gone front to lift Ngoche’s delivery got stumped by Ouma brilliantly after reaching his half century. Astonishingly Afridi came up with a 5 wicket stint comprising all the Kenyan’s middle order and top down order.
Overall, Kenyan’s batting (conquered in just 33 over’s)and bowling is a debacle overcoming which Pakistan rallied a comfortable win gaining 4.1 points in the Group A standing at 3rd position.
