Paul Collingwood suffered with back injury in his last game . Collingwood was ruled out of final ODI and the seventh match between Aus vs Eng in Perth on Sunday.
England injury disaster was deepening with the injury of Paul Collingwood. Paul Collingwood could not be able to complete his quota 10 overs in the match as he underwent back injury at SCG. Collingwood will be flying back to England. He is expected to be fit for the start of World Cup practice match with Canada on February 16.
Andrew Strauss stated that due to bowlers’ shortage, they lost the match to Australia at SCG by imposing huge total. Paul Collingwood is the latest one to fly away home with injury, Tim Bresnan and Grame Swann was gone away after the first ODI. Later, Ajmal Shahzad and Chris Tremlett will also join Collingwood. Stuart Broad was ruled out in the Ashes test series he is with the squad now but was unlikely to take place in final eleven.
Liam Plunkett was called up for the final ODI; he was playing for Lions in Caribbean. Plunkett has already played 28 one day internationals for England. He arrived in Perth after long journey of 40 hours. Plunkett said that he is fresh and confident to be part of final playing eleven for last game. Australia is leading the series with 5-1; England wants to finish the series with winning game and to enter the World Cup with some momentum.
