India vs New Zealand 1st ODI: India defeated New Zealand in the first ODI of the five ODI match Series. India vs New Zealand match was kicked-off at 09:00 local and 03:30 GMT. India took 1-0 lead in the five ODI match Series.

In the first match of the five ODI match series, India won by 40 runs against New Zealand. New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl. In this match, Virat Kohli made his fourth and second successive century. He made 118 runs in the last match against Australia at Visakhapatnam.

In this match, India scored 276 runs in 49 overs (all-out). Virat Kohli scored 105 runs in 104 balls with 10 fours; Yuvraj Singh scored 42 runs in 64 balls in 64 balls and made 88 runs third wicket partnership with Virat Kohli.

New Zealand bowlers, Andy McKay took four wickets followed by Kyle Mills took three and Daryl Tuffey took two.

India has set a target of 277 runs for News Zealand. But, they failed to achieve the target. They scored 236 runs in 45.2 overs. New Zealand skipper, Ross Taylor scored 66 runs 69 balls with three bounders and three sixes. For the ninth wicket, Nathan McCullum (35) and Kyle Mills (32) made 67 runs partnership.

Yuvraj Singh, Ravichandran Ashwin and Sreesanth grabbed three wickets each.
