Brett Lee is one step closer to play for Wellington, but a scheduling conflict could deprive fans of a match up title with other Australian speedster, Shaun Tait at the Basin Reserve on December 5.
Cricket Wellington chief executive, Gavin Larsen is awaiting for the approval from Cricket Australia. Before entering into official talks with Lee, the Canterbury boss, Lee Chief German plays same waiting game with Tait.
But, New Zealand Cricket’s domestic schedule, Wellington to play an opening weekend of double-header at the Basin against Otago on December 4 and Canterbury on December 5.
Because of the clashes, they could not before the Basin Reserve would be the December 16 match against Auckland. He could play six matches, including the home match against Central Districts on Dec. 27
Lee’s manager, Neil Maxwell still awaiting news of CA as his charge makes a bid to play in the World Cup next year.
