On Wednesday, Australian cricket captain, Ricky Ponting requested ICC not to ban Pakistan’s entire team. Recently, Pakistan cricket has been in crisis due to match-fixing allegations.
Pointing said that it is not fair to penalize the entire team over fixing allegations. Pakistan players, Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir were suspended over these allegations.
“I think that’s going a bit too far, let’s just start with the people we know about at the moment and make sure they’re dealt with in the appropriate manner,” Ponting said.
The match-fixing scandal was come out after the arrest of bookie, Mohammad Mazed. Scotland police arrested Mazed and he revealed few Pakistani players in the investigation.
Australia will have India tour next week.
